"Where Does My Heart Beat Now" is a song written in 1988 and recorded by Céline one year later.
The song world premiere was in the Eurovision Song Contest 1989, where Céline also sang the 1988 winning song "Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi."
It was released in October 1990 in United States as the first single from the Unison album. "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" was also the first single in the rest of the world, released the next year. In Canada it was issued as the third single.
Three versions of the music video exists: black & white version for the Canadian market (1990), color performance version for the United States promotion (December 1990) and black & white version mixed with performance version made for the Unison home video (1991).
Chart success
"Where Does My Heart Beat Now" was the most successful single from the Unison album and Dion's first English hit. The song reached #4 on Billboard Hot 100 and did even better on Billboard Adult Contemporary in U.S. peaking at #2. "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" reached also top 10 in Norway and Canada, peaking at numbers 4 & 6 respectively.
When it was released in United Kingdom in March 1991, the song peaked at #81 only. The single was re-released there in March 1993, reaching #72.
